James Clarke is a guitarist, arranger, band leader and teacher based in London UK. With an eclectic background of jazz, rock and classical music James performs in a wide variety of musical settings and lineups.
Moving to London in 2009 James enrolled at Brunel University London for which he graduated with a BMus Contemporary Music Performance (1st) and recently graduated from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama with a MPerf in Jazz Performance (dist.) in 2019.
James was awarded a place on the schools coveted fellowship programme where he continues to be involved with the conservatoire on a regular basis. At these institutions James studied with James Pusey, Tommy Emmerton, Adam Goldsmith, John Paricelli, Stuart Hall, Gareth Williams, Mike Outram and Barak Schmool, Playing electric, steel string, nylon, and banjo James often covers chairs on various Musical’s.
Recent examples include “Mythic” Charing Cross Theatre 2018, “Violet” Charing Cross Theatre 2018, “Once On This Island”, Southwark Playhouse 2019, “Soho Cinders” Charing Cross Theatre 2019.
